How I installed pergola/gazebo lights without calling an electrician

Thought I'd share a weekend project that took about an hour. I installed a 6-pack LED spotlight kit on my backyard pergola — no hardwiring needed since the kit runs on a safe 12V DC adapter (AC85-265V to 12V).
What's in the box: 6× IP65 waterproof mini spotlights + power supply + DIY connectors.
Key tips from the install:
- Pre-drill 16mm holes in the pergola beam BEFORE mounting
- Use the included IP65-rated connectors for outdoor runs
- Mount the power supply under the beam (keeps it dry + hidden)
- The remote dimmer is a nice touch for evening ambiance — 3 brightness levels
Cost comparison: a licensed electrician would charge $150-300 to wire recessed outdoor lights. This whole kit was under $50 and took me 60 minutes with a drill.
Happy to answer questions — I'm the brand owner so I know the product inside out. More info: https://www.lrleds.com/products/38
